Let's get social!

I have always been a lover of the arts since I was a child, drawing princesses and characters every chance I got in notebooks, joining art contests and going to art classes after school. Thankfully, with the support of my family, I was able to further my studies in the arts and design enrolling in De La Salle University-College of St. Benilde, Bachelor of Science majoring in Industrial Design.
This was the foundation of where I learned how to draw and colour; the beginning of my career in the arts.

Like anything in life, things change. I transferred countries with my husband and now have two kids! Life was focused on family and work, there was no time for art. When my youngest daughter turned 2,  I realised it was time to start again. I haven’t looked back since!

I have thankfully had the best start to my artistic career, having joined Geelong Illustrators. It came with lots of hard work plus juggling family life.

I have had endless support from local businesses. To name a few:

COMO BY Design: I was tasked here by Rebecca Jansma, a highly sought after interior designer in Australia, to illustrate her interior design for the reimagining of the COMO House in Melbourne. A task, I thoroughly enjoyed as I got to go back to my design roots. My work was advertised online, through marketing materials and was considered as one of the best illustrations.

FEAST Geelong: When Eileen Sims put a call out for artists to paint a mural in her amazing cafe, I had to put my name in! A cafe focused on sustainability and changing the world through good food for you and our earth, I created a design that supported her vision. After a success with the first mural, she invited me to do more for her cafe, and it’s been a long standing relationship since.

Cafe Series: This is one of the notable projects I have been doing for almost two years; going to local cafes in Geelong and Melbourne, highlighting our wonderful cafe culture and communities using the loveliest medium, their coffee. With this project, I have showcased these awesome cafes and had the chance to try this amazing medium with results I love! Expect an exhibition soon!

Some of my achievements have also been awarded 2nd Place at the Book Bird Illustration Prize and being invited to Bannockburn College to be their Artist in Residence for one week, where I had the chance to teach the students from Prep to Grade 7, different techniques in art and how a mother like me, can juggle family life along with my passion for art.

I am also a lover of portraiture hoping to join the Archibald one day and in love with landscapes. A lover of painting life! Another great dream of mine is too also one day illustrate children’s books.

Having so far experienced all of this, it has just made me more hungry to showcase what I can do, the endless possibilities haven’t been fully explored! I aim to showcase my versatility in the arts and design in this ever changing climate, focusing first on the traditional art then adding new techniques (such as digital media).
